It's really struggling at the native resolution of 1680x1050. I'm getting FPS in the high teens in outdoor wilderness without even having everything turned up. As many of you know it's important to run an MMO at native rez.
Did I just not optimize my E1505 well enough or is this the way it is with X1400?

can you give us your full system specs and full WoW settings?
try turning down your AA, and render distance... see how that works for you..
let us know.

Running the latest Omega driver for video card, all other drivers are from Dell. I only have the essentials running in the background, clean re-install no junkware.
WoW is running at 1680x1050, no AA, 8xAF, Terrain Distance medium, Environmental Detail medium, Terrain Texture low, Texture Detail high, Spell Level Detail high, Weather Intensity high.
All shader effects are enabled, along with vertex shader and smooth animation. No Vsync, hardware house. -
I'd crank your texture detail down to medium, spell level to medium, weather to medium & crank the AF way down. If you are going to run at such a high res, you're going to have to sacrifice somewhere. The x1400 is a capable video board, but I think you are just asking a little too much of it.
-
Thanks for the suggestion. I wasn't asking it to be something it's not, I'm just trying to figure out whether it's because I didn't fully optimize the system.
-
I understand. Who doesn't want to eek every bit of performance they can out of their hardware? I know I like to try and push mine. Good luck with it!
-
you could do two things..
1) take the AF off and see how it goes
or
2) take the shaders off and see how it goes.
maybe both need to be off, or maybe you can tweak it where it is somewhere in the middle..
ill agree with winterymix..you are asking a bit much from the x1400..

Got it, thanks guys!

Turns out bloom was the only thing causing the massive dip in FPS. Turned it off, no AA no AF everything else turned up and I get 35 FPS in the wilderness.
-
nice..glad to help..
if you want to see less jaggeds, turn down the draw distance some and turn AA/AF maybe to 2x each..see how that works for you.

I have everything you have, but I only have the 1.83 ghz cpu. Mine plays wow in low - mid 30s. Try deleting all internet files and running a scan disk, followed by a defragment of your hardrive. That should help speed up your computer, but it won't help your gpu.

Ever since Oblivion I've found out that I don't care a whole lot for AA and AF, so I'm gladly trading them for draw distance and stuff. -
How do you turn off AA and AF? I can turn them down and tweak the card for preformance but no option to turn them right off...unless just turning the card to preformance does turn them off.
-
with my e1505 (specs in bottom), i run the game with everything on max and works perfect. no lag.
-
bloom? what is bloom
-
but what is your FPS, with mine running at max the FPS is pretty low, like 15 and it is not smooth at all. I changed some settings in game to make it run inDirect 3d and it did seem to help. My max Res is 1440x990 on a 17 inch. Same video card, Core 2 Duo T7400 2.16GhZ 2 GiGs 533Mhz 120G 5400RPM drive.
