Cautiously pessimistic (if that makes sense). The last two were pretty mediocre and this one looks like a cookie-cutter FPS. Will be pleased if it's actually good, but definitely wouldnt do anything as dumb as dirty preordering.

...I have 3D around here on a 3.5 somewhere. Maybe I'll just see about reinstalling it ;)

what worries me is the fact that the latest nvidia beta driver has the sli profile for this game set to single gpu, i am hoping they dont screw this one up and not support Sli, i force enabled AF2

Looks pretty good from what I can see... glad to see it supposedly has a solid single player story. Honestly, I'm actually looking forward to this one more than Watch Dogs.

Forcing one of the AFR modes won't work as the game is OpenGL-based (id Tech 5 Engine). The SLI bits for Rage might work though. The graphics in Wolfenstein look really outdated so if it's anything like Rage, you won't need SLI at all to max it out with constant 60 FPS easily. Bethesda's recommended GPU for 1080p60, Radeon 6850/GTX 460, is really quite low and both are beaten by a single 770M. I don't think you have anything to worry about.

yep sli doesnt work at all, get 1 Fps with sli, with a single gpu i get between 1 and 15. Something is def wrong with the game and it isnt playable at all for me, even on low. I figured this would happen. Goodnight, i regret staying up till midnight for this !

1280x720p, no vsync and I've got 30-45fps and dips to 15-20fps at explosions. Singleplayer is playable for me on these settings and framerates. Some texture popping at quick 180° turns but these are inevitable because of the 1GB videocard and the game engine. Specs. in my signature.

edit.: I forgot to mention that I am playing on the medium preset which was selected by default. (the default resolution was 1600x900, but I turned it down) Later, I will definately play with the settings and use my old custom RAGE configs for 1GB vram.

Playing great on the 860m... I've only played the first mission via Steam streaming to my Surface as I've been stuck in the office, but its streaming at 1080p 55-60fps on the default medium settings. Will tinker with settings when I get to my laptop, but curiosity was killing me ha after I let it download all night.

Opening mission was fun :D Seems beefier systems or SLI rigs are having issues, and was afraid the game was DOA from some forum posts, but happy to report it does work.

Did Rage ever support SLI? If not, I don't think this game ever will either. If I recall, Carmack said it was due to GPU Transcoding in id Tech 5 and SLI would cause data read issues.

10-15 hour story with an emphasis on plot and atmosphere; not limited to carrying two weapons; health packs and armor-pickups instead of Halo/CoD regenerating health; retro-futuristic design instead of either WWII or modern warfare. Doesn't sound very cookie-cutter to me.

Polygon gave it a 9/10, and they're not afraid to give low scores when a game deserves it: Wolfenstein: The New Order review: machine gun | Polygon

Had a couple hours to play this afternoon, gotta say I'm very impressed! I didn't keep up with a lot of the info leading up to release, so wasn't exactly sure what to expect, but it's a great game. I'd definitely recommend for somebody looking for something different than a typical online shooter. Loving the level design/atmosphere so far, and the gun play feels absolutely spot on.

Performance wise, buttery smooth, occasional texture pop in on edge of screen when spinning around, but only noticeable when looking for it. Much better in this regard than RAGE, where it drove me nuts.

I forgot to mention. The level design isn't linear; there are multiple ways to get where you want to go (both in terms of geography and how to engage the enemy). There are hidden treasure rooms just like in Wolf 3D. And depending on how you fight, your character automatically earns related perks, transforming them into a stealthy ninja or a dual-wielding beast as the game progresses.

I don't get why basic graphical settings like AA and AF which make the game look a million times better aren't exposed at all and you have to force them through console commands. And the launch day issues and poor driver support from Nvidia and AMD and lack of multi-GPU support. Have they learned nothing at all from the Rage cluster****?

Since this game is based off the horrid ID tech 5 engine, we may never get sli support. I ill never pre order or buy a new PC game again till they fix them 6 months later or become free. Ive been shafted too many times now. Like titanfail, still no sli support! My system depends on sli

Nvidia said the same thing for Wolfenstein that they've been saying for Titanfall: The game is not SLI-friendly ATM and if the developers patch it they will push an SLI profile through. But SLI support basically doesn't matter as this game is just like Rage-if you enable SLI it breaks GPU Transcoding. So we have to choose between either having SLI or having good texture streaming performance. I blame the piece of trash that is id Tech 5. There's nothing good about it except MegaTexture, which in and of itself is very buggy. The games that have been made with id Tech 5 so far look very outdated. Unique textures everywhere don't make a great-looking game if everything else looks like crap. Even Carmack himself said that id Tech 5 is less advanced than id Tech 4 AKA Doom 3 engine (circa 2004) in many aspects of rendering.

Is it a good game? Does it need SLI to be fun. I liked rage and it was fun on much weaker hardware. I'm guessing a decent single GPU could run it just fine, unless all you care about is a tech demo instead of a fun game.

Way more demanding than Rage actually. Single laptop GPU's would have a hard time maxing out the eye candy with a consistently high frame rate suitable for a twitch FPS.

Benchmarks and lotsa people with pretty stout hardware complaining about less-than-stellar performance in this thread: Wolfenstein: The New Order; PC Performance Thread - NeoGAF

Good to know it's working for you. Alot of people at guru3d are complaining about explosion fps drop and bad texture pop up at lower or even higher end PC's.

Seeing game favor Radeon GPU's more than Geforce makes me think i should try it. :)

I understand wanting to push the hardware you've bought to its fullest, ie SLI if that's your thing, but if the game doesn't need it to run well, why such hostility? Is ID Tech 5 the best engine, absolutely not, but I'm having a blast with the game on a mid range notebook GPU (860m Kepler).... the game world is vibrant and convincing, and the gunplay is fantastic. There are segments of all out flat out chaos yet plenty of segments with the option to go stealth or guns a blazing depending on play style.

I've played for 6+ hours and I only just started Chapter 3! Somebody finally made a good single player shooter again!

game is awesome, no doubt. I just hate that it doesnt use my system to its fullest, i want to keep a locked 60 fps. With one overclocked gpu in my AW18 i have it maxed minus screen reflections and i get 40-60 fps.

Dual wield pistols are just mere peanuts. You can dual wield shotguns as well! Wonder if two machine guns at once is an options in this game.

Dayum. I may just buy it on principle alone then! Rare to get a good single player FPS any more.

I thought not, seemed kind of weird. But it's been so long couldn't remember. I thought that was a fairly "modern" mechanic, although too many games *don't* use it when they should.
