Here's an hour of gameplay footage for those of us boycotting Bugthesda due to its recent paid mods scandal. Which should be everyone amirite? ;)

Yes, it seems every one of Bugthesda's bad moves in recent years has been an attempt to capitalize on TES' massive success. First it was ESO then it was paid mods for Skyrim. Both fell flat on their faces. Stop trying so hard, Bugthesda.

I can't in good conscience boycott a company that gave me 400 hours of gameplay (and that was modless) with just Skyrim, for a fair price. I don't even want to count the hours for Arena, Daggerfall, Morrowind, Oblivion, FO3 and New Vegas (Though that was Obsidian). I don't have time for Old Blood at the moment though.. Later this year I'll grab it.

    my guess: TOB is shorter.

personally this would have been great as the early missions in TNO.

How buggy is TOB thus far? Normally I would've picked up a game like this on launch day, but a) I don't game as much as I used to and b) enough is enough, gotta curb my enthusiasm at some point, especially after spending $500+ on games alone last year. Yikes.

Going to pick it up for ps4, comparing the PC and ps4 versions of wolfenstein, the game had so much more optimization done on the ps4 version its ridiculous

I don't get how people can choose a console over a PC when it comes to FPS games. Mouse/keyboard just seems so much more natural and better tuned than the super slow mo turning and looking using a game controller.

Exactly. It's blasphemous considering Wolf's significance in PC gaming lore and development of the FPS genre.

It's a singleplayer game. Can you name even one reason to play it on console when one already has a gaming PC? I can't.

It's not exactly a powerhouse on PC. And you do realize that both PS4 and XB1 dynamically scale horizontal resolution (drops to 1760x1080 and 960x1080 respectively) to maintain 60 FPS when the engine is under stress? That doesn't happen on PC. There are Steam achievements as well.

Of course it's a choice. Nothing wrong with it if you choose to do it. But to me if I have a gaming PC or a console, playing FPS games on a console is like having the turning radius of a school bus with only a single gear, where on PC it's a sports car that can turn on a dime and has a six speed manual transmission.

W:TOB is a dlc and size is around 40gb?doom 4 would be 100gb if not more. Its crazy how much space take today games.I remember year and half ago tomb raider, sleeping dogs etc were all less than 20gb and they were better than most those above 50gb newer games.

The engine used by this generation of Wolfenstein (ala RAGE) makes the games particularly large, but yeah, overall, games are quickly headed to the 50GB+ range. W:TNO takes up 44GB, so doubt Doom 4 will be anywhere near 100GB, but 50GB wouldn't surprise me. Titanfall last year took that much as well, so it's becoming more the norm. If I'm not mistaken, Star Citizen is going to be over 100GB when (if?) it's ever "complete".

Brings back the days I'd buy games on 5 1/4" floppies at Babbages that were huge at 200KB+... times keep on a moving ha!

they did the same thing in TOB where there's a place you can sleep and play as if you're in the original wolfenstein 3d.

i am at the end at the final boss battle and getting kicked around like mad.

Yeah I played through the 8-bit wolfenstein too. :D

I liked Wolfenstein New Order and this one. It's like an old school shooter. Not too complicated, but a bit open to explore and play how you want. There is lots of repetitive stuff though, but I guess that's old school too. Like the first chapter is a turning off power switch simulator. Second is climbing wall simulator... lol.

I enjoy the Schockhammer. Great weapon. Low on ammo, but it gets the job done in close quarters. It's supposed to basically be a shotgun, but it seems more like a railgunshotgun.

And it's great that there are actually limited enemies, and don't keep regenerating for no reason whatsoever. So you can camp an area and take people out instead of having to worry about having to trigger a spot to stop them from pouring out. Plus you can go stealth or all out Rambo style. I usually like to go stealth unless/until I get seen/caught then I have no choice. I just wish there was a way to turn off the alarm manually (a la Blood Dragon).

The only way to turn off alarms is to kill the commanders.
