What would be some laptops within a $1,000 to $1,500 price range that could run WoW Burning Crusade smoothly. Bare in mind i will be using a lot of add-ons and running Ventrillo or Teamspeak.

Anything above the x1600/7600 will run WoW:BC at max settings/resolution with FireFox, Ventrilo, mIRC, Azereus, MSN, etc. at 60fps in a 40 man raid(when it still existed back then LOL!).

Yes, I haven't touched my WoW account in half a year :)

I noticed when I clicked on e1705 there is one that costs $1,600 and one that costs $1,100. The only difference is the ram. One has 2GB the other has 1GB. Would the difference affect my game play?

....i would not pay the extra 500 dollar just for ram...and i doubt they would charge the extra 500 for ram. Maybe they was offering a different screen resolution or something with one of them.

Just go with the basic one, and customize it to your liking.

For $1088 (before tax and after the $500 off for an Inspiron over $1500 coupon which can be found on this website under Dell Coupons), you can get a Dell E1705 with the following stats:

    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T7200 (2.00GHz, 4MB L2 Cache, 667 MHz FSB)
    Windows Vista™ Home Premium
LCD Panel 17 inch Wide Screen XGA+ TFT Display with TrueLife™(glossy) (1440x900 resolution)
1GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHz
    256MB NVIDIA® GeForce™ Go 7900 GS
    80GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive
    8x CD/DVD burner (DVD+/-RW) with double-layer DVD+R write capability

any warranties past the 1 year mail-in or extra stuff will cost more of course

I am also buying 2 GB of RAM from Newegg for under $100 and getting rid of the 1GB that the system comes with (seems like a waste, but I'm not paying $200 to Dell for 2GB when it's incredibly easy to replace RAM).

For me, after tax and shipping on everything, the total cost is about $1250, which is great for what you get.
