I am considering buying World in Conflict for a friend with a vostro 1400 with the 8400 gs gpu. I am not sure how the game will run with the 8400 gs. I wanted to get him a game that will run around medium settings.

    T7700 2GB RAM , Geforce 8400M GS (Default Clocks)

    Resolution: 1280*800
    Detail Level: Medium
    Average fps: 20
    Min fps: 9
    Max fps: 42
    TotalFrames: 1038

Runs fine with shader detail on low. Don`t bother with DX10 mode as it will be too slow. Since you mentioned a vostro 1400 you might be able to overclock to get a nice boost in fps.
