I'm after a laptop that will play WoW at max detail at a good resolution (at least 1024x768/widescreen equivalent).

I know it's not the most graphically demanding game out there, so what laptop GPUs will run WoW?

I'm basically gonna get the cheapest laptop I can that does the job.

If anyone has an info, it would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

well my computer right now runs its with a 64 mb integrated GPU... it doesnt even support any type of Pixel shader, so i think any modern integrated card will do exceptionally well

WoW doesnt put much stress of graphics especially when you can turn off just about everything except character models. I'd agree that any decent integrated gpu would do the trick.

Well, my Ti 4200 in my desktop could max it out. To tell the truth, WoW isn't that visually impressive of a game. I would say a Go 7600 + would suffice. Maybe even a 7400. Actually, those cards would be overkill.

What about somthing like an Intel GMA900/915/950?

Would they cope ok, or is it still best to avoid integrated chips?

For Wow? Yeah, the 950 would probably be fine on medium or med-high at 1024x768. However, if you can find something with an X3100 in it, it would be even better, yet still inexpensive.

If you plan on trying any more graphics demanding games at a later time, I would use a dedicated GPU on a laptop.

I was able to run it fine with a geforce go 4 series notebook (64mb) -- that should say it all.

My x300 can run it on almost all highest settings at 1024x resolution, minus a few things. My desktop x800 can run it on all highest except for like one at 1280.

I second this. Santa Rosa laptops with intel's integrated graphics chip should run WOW with no problems and are also very affordable. Plus, some time down the road you may get DX10 support.
