Yesterday, Blizzard announced that World of Warcraft II, a sequel to their extremely popular World of Warcraft MMORPG is in development, with plans to release it in the forth quarter of 2010. It will feature unsurpassed graphics, the most cinematic quests in any game with everything fully spoken, the deepest gameplay and the most realistic world ever in any game ever released. No screenshots yet (other than concept art), but Blizzard did state that they have a $500 million dollar budget and a huge development team for the game. It will be released for PC and Mac, with other consoles possible.
It sounds like this could potentially be the best game ever made, and even the most-played. I'm definitely looking forward to this.

the first time i played WoW the first thing i thought was - "i cant believe they have so many subscribers"
the architecture in the world is pretty well done; ran it in a private server as an instant 70lvl, ran through all the environments, saw all the cities and other things worth seeing, un-installed
combat in WoW is a joke, as is pvp, generic fed-ex quests and just about everything else
maybe for WoW2 they can actually make combat that resembles a good game like Blade of Darkness, doubtful though -
-
i agree with anarky.
I still think that Star Wars Galaxies pre CU was a far superior game to WoW in every way accept pve. -
I took the 10 day WoW trial, and uninstalled it the same day I tried it... I don't understand how it is so successful.
-
yea blizzard made WOW terrible, keeps on craving in to noobs, but it is still the best mmorpg atm compared with other bad mmorpgs.

I wonder how many more expansions they will leech out of WoW before they finally do create a new game.

It's really odd, you know, how we have a beautiful game like SC which is still in its glory days, after being around for over a decade, and then we've got WoW which is more of a child's toy for Blizzard. It's as though they are just using WoW to make money (and who can blame them?) to fund the true games like SC2 and Diablo III.
WoW is fun, but it's only fun when you've got some new gear to get, or mo money (mo problems). SC is fun...always, just like Diablo. -

wow is good for those with too much free time and no real life, keeps you out of trouble and gives you something to do. however try to fit it into your real life schedule and it can be trouble.
Many a jobs lost, people divorced, kids neglected, etc etc over mmo addiction and wow is probably the primary one.
but I guess thats kinda off topic.
I just think wow has hit its limits with its engine, and wonder what the risk vs reward would be if they made a new game on a better engine. -

Still i'd love to see the graphical improvements. -

Just wait until virtual reality mmo exsist one day...
it will be like .hack one day lol
I was heavily addicted to wow once upon a time, and had small addictions to phantasy star online & final fantasy xi. I have to be careful with mmo games as I tend to be the type that gets drawn in easy.
that marine corps competitive nature drives me to play so I can be stronger/higher level/best gear.
that said i would have no problems being a mmo junkie if I was not married w/ kids. like I said keeps you out of trouble. its cheaper to pay $15 a month than it is to spend $40 a night going out drinking & parting and lets not even get into how much girl friends & dates can cost -
yes, I saved so much $ when I was addicted to EQ & WoW but my social life & sleeping habits went all to hell. -
oh the 4 quarter of 2010,so i guess it will debut on the next xbox aswell then?
-
Yeah MMO's have saved me thousands of dollars! a couple of years ago i went to bars every night of the week. i got WoW to occupy me and help save money and it worked! but the down side is, as everyone says, it kills your social life. Now i'm on to WAR. much better pvping... However i'd prolly go to WoWII in a heartbeat if they ever made it...

"a couple of years ago i went to bars every night of the week."

I tried the 10-day free trial of WoW, and I was not all that impressed. If I were ever going to pay $15 a month for an MMO, it would probably be Lord of the Rings Online. I was in the pre-release beta program, and it was truly a fantastic MMO, and graphically miles ahead of WoW. In the meantime, though, I'm quite happy with Guild Wars. -

LOTR is also $15? I thought i was only $10

if this is a april fools then its double funny because if you google "xbox 720 blizzard" blizzard have been in talks with ms on the dev of ms next system so its not out of the realms of possibility that the next wow maybe made to run on that system.
