What is the least expensive/power laptop video card I can use in World of Warcraft to do the end game 20 man raids in Outland without it going under 10 FPS? Will a 200 IGP work? Trying to find a used budget laptop. Trying to keep price under 600 US. Thanks.

Well my old HP had a x200m w/ 128dedicated video ram and it ran a little laggy at 1680x1050 at all low. But I imagine lowering the resolution would make it fine for 20 mans. May be due to the fact it had 2gig of ram why it ran so well.

    Hope that helped!

    600$.. hmm I dunno.

I recomend a mid 7' series card from nvidia atleast.

It depends on what settings you wish to run the game at tho aswell.

I'll tell you this, since your on a budget you should check out the buy/sell section here and see if you can get a used notebook. That will be the best way to get more power for your money.

If you can strech your budget I bet you can snag a used Asus G1P for 1000$ eventully as people with more money than us toss there old ones to upgrade to the G1S.

    edit: like this one!

Thanks for the replies! BTW, forgot to mention looking at 17" models since it's harder to play on smaller screens. Also, need to be able to hook it up to my 19" LCD monitor when I'm at home. I don't understand much about the whole "WIFI" thing. One laptop I was thinking of buying the owner said it had a port for a wifi card. I don't know if that means the card would be internal or external, and how that effects it's effectivness should it occupy a port that is needed to do something else. Are their different ways to go wifi? Again, thanks for the help, you folks are awesome!

he prob meant some sort of express card slot, so you can put a wifi card in there wich is... well its external but its inside the notebook mostly.

external cards generally pick up signal better than internal ones, as a gamer I always use a wired connection anyways.

I higher doubt that you will find a good 17' in this price range, as for the wif I personally believe its a minipci port instead of express slot. Even the internal ones are really good so donnt worry about it unless you need range. I say for more that 50m and through multiple walls then you need something better.
