    Hello guys,
I have underutilisation when playing World of warcraft the last expansion, it jumps from 20 to 40-50% max and never goes higher. In large fights when there are alot of players it hovers on 20% utilisation and the fps drops to 15 which is rly odd for this card. Can any1 help me tweak some settings to help it run better? The laptop specs are in my signature. I have the latest beta drivers and CAP and my windows is like 5 days old.

    Thanks in advance!

What is your average FPS (without much action on-screen)?

You may be running into a CPU bottleneck if you're seeing it drop that low with a lot of action on-screen.

Also, I notice you're using an np8130... Do you have an upgraded PSU? I don't think the stock PSU on an np8130 can handle a 7970m, especially at load.

No fights, no players it is 60 with vsync in closed places outside is 30-35 , in a raid boss fight its 15-20, i have afterburner on all the time and i can see the graph that my utilisation is not going up from 20%. Its not even maxed out... Yes, i have the PSU upgraded. I have rly nice benches last nite it scored 6160 on 3dmark 11. I run kombustor for like 10-15 mins and my temps are hovering on 73C. Kombustor can make utilisation to go to 99%.

When I tried newer drivers for me using 6990m crossfire I found they also similarly resulted in lower fps. 12.8 was last 'fast' driver for me, 12.9/12.10/12.11 all drops my fps and utilization to below 50%. Try older drivers and see if it improves, force the AMD profiles for wow.exe if you have to in the ccc.
I consistently get stuttering no matter the fps, I have vsync locked and triple buffering etc and even if it's showing 60 fps it will have stuttering in the outside world when turning, on flight paths etc. In raid etc the fps holds steady >30 fps even on heavy fights.

Thanks for your reply, i will try today 12.8. I dont care for benches and stuff, I just want to see that i've spent my 450$ well if you know what i mean. I could play wow with similar performance on my gtx 560m.

I have tried the 12.8 whql again and i saw no performance gain. The fps hovers on 12-16 fps in raid fights. Before fight its 60, outside in the enviroinment its 40-50. Game is on 1080p and high details, shadows are disabled. If anyone can help me tune it for better perfomance would be nice. :)

Beavy, I had exact same issues with WoW like you do, I didn't pay particular attention to it because I just tried 10 day trial of MoP.

    Things that helped:
#1 Run game in Dx9 mode with 32 bit box ticked.
#2 Wait for utilization fixes in 12.11+ drivers.

I shouldn't have underutilization problems, i have HM series. I tried some modded drivers and it still lags in raid fights. I will wait for next WHQL before i go back to nvidia.
