I always try before I buy.. I absolutely love to support developers who put out a good game, and I'll encourage others to buy it if I like it but I can't take a leap of faith with the crap some companies are putting out there. Some developers spend more on advertising than on the actual product.

NFS Undercover is the worst game in history.

Man, I was really looking forward to dead space as well. :(
I heard it was good, apart from the mouse lag that some people had.

I'm still going to give it a try

Strange... I had the completely opposite experience, but I play mostly Onslaught/Warfare mode. UT3 does require good hardware to run, and it definitely took advantage of my 8800gtx-SLI laptop. The updated axion vehicles and their necris counterparts definitely added more variety to UT3 Warfare.

The one thing that sucks about UT3 compared to UT2004 are the lack of dynamic player-downloadable maps.

Back to topic.... Hellgate London was a big let-down. It started off bad, got patched to near-playable levels, then Flagship Studios went bankrupt. HGL lives on in Korea, but it's pretty much dead in the US and EU.

Agreed. Played about 3/4 of the campaign, and then a week of multiplayer and I was done with it. I'm not sure what it is, but imo they ruined the COD series when it came to consoles. Too dumbed down for my liking...

The RB6 series are still my favorite shooters.

    Gears of War (PC)

    - Frequent save file corruption even a year after release!
    - Many checkpoints don't even bother to load
    - Have to replay sections of the game just to advance to a checkpoint that does load
    - Maxed out graphics still look like shades of crap, literally most of the time
    - Annoying characters
    - GFWL

    CoD WaW.

CoD4 was fun through the campaign and intense and movie-like unto the very end.

WaW is just like CoD4, but not as good, and not quite as interesting or captivating. From the first level in CoD4, you just knew it was going to be an over the top experience, and the game never gave that up.

the first level of CoD WaW made me fall asleep.

    MERCENARIES 2 World In Flames:

TOO MUCH BUGS GODDAMIT!!! and also it has a short-single player game.

Loading time is exactly 2 minutes or 1.5 minutes. OMG!!!

mercenaries 1 is even better and much more playable.

Hell Gate LOndon, buggy and doesnt have a good story telling.

    NFS undercover, it kills NFS!!!

Sometime i just miss the days where, the game graphic doesnt matter and the only things that matters is the gameplay, plot story and cool memorable characters..... Gonna play Baldurs Gate XD LoL!!!

Have to say Madden 09 on PS3...the bugs/glitches were just too much and have gotten me to forever boycott the Madden series in the future.

Anything with SecuROM/activation limit on it would be second (although thanks to Steam I can avoid these [as they clearly state titles with these included])...

But lately I've been content with: Fable 2, L4D, and Fallout 3 which has taken all my time up (last 2 on PC).

Red Alert 3... felt like a kid playing in a sandbox with pretty toys
Far Cry 2... i get enough driving in real life, why waste 90% of gameplay on a jeep wrangler?
COD5... i want innovation, not repetition
COD4... the most linear FPS. Can't do anything thats not scripted.

I loved COD4, I was so addicted to the multiplayer. COD4 story mode was great, loved every moment of it. Especially how the first level (the big ship) was only the introduction and then it said

Yeah, I'm with you on this one, my policy is: Downloading the game from a P2P. If I like it, I definitely buy it and recommend it.
During the ~5 years that I've been video gaming, I have played around 100 and bought about 15. All the ones I didn't buy it was because I wasn't even able to finish them in the first place (way too boring). On the other hand, consider I have an x1600 so several new games I haven't been able to play them. I'm sure there are other 5 somewhere that I haven't try.

i also played fallout 3 for like 5 or 6 hours. at that point i was very much done with it. uninstalled. it was cool visually, thats about it. i kind of liked it. but not enough to finish it. I just looked up the rest of the plot and watched the ending on youtube ;)

I guess I just wasn't that hyped for it because I knew what it was.

i know i'll get pelted by everyone..

i didnt like Half-life 2. possibly because i played it 4 years after it was released, and never played the origincal. there were impressive moments in the game but it just couldnt grab my attention. also, i generally play RPG's and the only recent FPS' i'd played were F.E.A.R. and Bioshock so that might have had something to do with it as well.

I played HL2 when it first came out. Haha. But I never actually got around to actually finishing it until later, because I was extremely jumpy as a 14 year-old. I was pathetic, I know.

Hmmm. Worst game? I haven't played many games lately. Fallout 3 stole a lot of my time, but I'm pretty much done with it. Same with Red Alert 3. Far Cry 2 I don't have time to play right now, but I'll get around to it; I actually like it.

Games that can't give me 10 hours are "worst" but all the games I've recently played have fulfilled those hours.

    Warhammer online: Age of reckoning

Its not that bad , but definitely the worst game ive played recently. Also, in comparison to the hype it received the game really sucked. It looks bad (imo), plays bad, and is even just conceptually bad. Not only did they fail to create a world for players to play in (its random zones), but they also failed to provide diversity in looks (everyone looks the same), class balance, unique interesting classes (basic healer/DPS etc. Playing classes is very simple and boring), and an incentive to actually fight the other faction outside of the scenarios (of which people only play ONE, and they ignore the scenario objective and just attack eachother).

I can imagine liking it if it was free to play. But for $15 a month you are really getting ripped off. It simply isnt in the same league of games like WoW and LOTRO (both great imo).
