Worst games ever?

I keep seing threads about recommended games or popular ones.
So I was wondering, which are the worst?
Which are the games that are so bad that they`re not worth buying?

Man, I remember that game!!!!! it sucked BAD!!!

 

Lol. In my younger days , I used to go through a lot of Sega and Nintendo games.And boy ,some of them were hideous.
I was wondering about PC games though, since I`m planning to get more of them, and I`d like to know from which to steer off of

 

John Romero's Daikatana comes to mind. It was delayed many times and when it was finally released it became apparent it should have stayed away.

 

Dude, Daikatana? ARE YOU SERIOUS? It was among the best stories I saw in an ancient game. Sure, the graphics and the AI were incredibly dumb, but the story made it worth while. I still have the original cd, and must have played the game at least 3 times . The story was amazing for that time...

ever played Cricket 2000 from EA Sports, no i guess not, it the most horrible game ever, all u have to do is press both the right click and left click at the same time and the ball rockets for a four, oh and hitting sixes is not possible also.

 

LOL, I heard of something like that, I must have been 15 then. And not much into gaming...
For me, the FIFA series suck. The do the same thing over and over again. Why play soccer with a keyboard, get out there and hit the ball yourself!

 

Mech assault, MS totally killed the mechwarrior series.

But thank god Smith and Tinker, founded by the Jordan Weisman who originally founded FASA back in the 80s, bought back the rights from MS.

In terms of console games,

All the shining games after Shining Force 3 on the saturn, which include shining wind, shining force Neo, Shining Force EXA, and shining tears.

They are not too bad, if you were to just pick up and play, but they are horrible to true fans of the series.

 

yup Fifa is pretty pathetic as well, and I hate Cricket 2000 all the more cuz it was one of the first 5 games that i bought for my brand new spanking Pentium 3!!! i had saved up for 3 months to get that game ( i was 10 at the time) and the let down i felt,,grrrr it still hurts..

 

oh and how about Sim City Societies? its a total fiasco

 

You can say that about a lot of the games, go out there and do it for real. I play football in a team but I still like to come home and play some FIFA. Whether it be online or by myself or with some friends. The FIFA series is a classic, eventhough you can go out there and play soccer, when do you get the chance to manage a European team? Play against the top players? Check out new stadiums??

 

Dude, FIFA repeats itself.
At least NFS series are getting better at it, they do other things besides just drive here,drive there.
I know there are a lot of games that fall into that cathegory, NFS included.
That`s why I play soccer live and drive a car pretty much daily
It`s just my subjective opinion, for other FIFA might be the best game in the universe.

Need for speed series went down the tubes when they went with the dam import car scene.

 

Some games are worth repeating(meaning updated) since they continue a good story:
-Half Life
-Quake
-Doom

But others,I mean, FIFA and NFS have no story. It`s all I`m saying

Games i wish i avoided on the pc: Far cry, Lost planet and Bioshock.

Another one is halo 2 but that's brilliant on the xbox.

FIFA on a keyboard just doesn't work. It's a great game on a console with a controller, but it does not work well at all on a keyboard...

 

Hah, the 3 games I tried playing and NEVER finished.

The game was released for PC in 2007, which, of course, shows in the great visuals. Although you would have to try it to really jusge it, you can also draw some conclusions from the video how revolutionary and awesome the gameplay and combat system must be...
My god, what were they thinking...

 

I don't buy that many games and when I do they are already established as good multiplayers. The only game I never liked was Lemmings for SNES.

 

If by any chance anyone has an N64, don't get Quest 64 or the Pokemon Stadium series... they stink.

any movie related games with the exception of riddick which is an awesome game.

 

FIFA 08 (Xbox 360/PS3) IMO took that crown. Oh yes and of course there's Martin Tyler in the game. What more could you want.

 

I usually research my games too well to ever really get a nasty one. The only game I've ever just gone out and purchased (well, pre-purchased, actually) was Sins of a Solar Empire...and that rocked.

Hmm...I even liked Monster Truck Rally and Kings Quest 3, so I'm not sure it is possible for me to dislike a game. Oh and Search and Rescue...that game crashed with the best of them *tear*.

Nope, they are all pretty good to me.

Though there was one game that I anticipated highly for so long (over 4 years) I eventually lost interest and wasn't aware the game had shipped until 2 months after the fact. Black & White. Still a decent game.

 

bioshock, prey ( horrible game), any game where japanime characters are bright colored and powerful. All of the mario/wario puzzle games are craptastic. Nintendo ds, what a horrible idea ( no.. really i dont want to play a video game with a pencil..thanks though). And the worst game of all time...........WoW.

 

Which reminds me, I`m anxious to see the movie they`re making out of a very popular game, sometime next year, but for the life of me, I don`t remember the name..

Bioshock lasted three times too long, but I still enjoyed it. I really actually enjoyed Prey, though it was also maybe a bit too long. Plus I got it for 5 bucks.

you must not have had many experiences with bad games. let's see, the purpose of creating a game is to make money and to deliver entertainment to the largest possible audience. considering that millions of subscribers are enjoying WoW, i don't think it's fair to say "it's the worst game ever, seriously."

let's just say there are more people who will consider your 'best game ever' a trash than they will for WoW maybe you have personal distaste for WoW but to claim it worst game ever? let's be real no?

That certainly is one ugly piece of sh*t. And I'm taking the release year into consideration here, which was 1997. Hell, even five years older Ultima Underworld (released in 1992) looks better than that (and btw is also very good game).

Of course graphics isn't everything. Actually, I rather enjoy playing older games, which look plain horrible compared to the latest games. But when the game doesn't even meet the "minimum visual stantards" of it's own time, atleast I expect there to be few things that can compensate it (flawless gameplay, compelling story, great soundtrack, thrilling atmosphere etc.). When there's nothing -> Fail.

 

hmm, resident evil outbreak i remember as being pretty bad, bogged down by bad camera angles and too many ladders that turn every 5 steps into a mini cinematic

No **** FIFA repeats itself, it's a football game, duh! It just has new features every year. And if you actually played it every year you'd realize the difference in every version, better AI, better moves, better stadiums. If you are a fan of the FIFA series you would actually appreciate the new versions every year. Did you play every FIFA version extensively since FIFA 1997 untill now? Because from year to year there are major differences. Granted it's the same principle (football) every FPS is the same principle, be in the first person and shoot people. FIFA is a classic game and it's an expectation that EA will develop an new one every year. I have every game of the series and never get tired of it.
