Is it worth paying an extra 440 dollars for this upgrade?

    NVIDIA® GeForce™ GT 840M (2.0GB) GDDR3 PCI-Express DX11 w/ Optimus™ Technology
    NVIDIA® GeForce™ GTX 970M (3.0GB) GDDR5 PCI-Express DX11 (Maxwell) w/ Optimus™ Technology

    I would also have to downgrade from a i7 4810 to the i7 4720.

EDIT: what is a good GeForce cost/benefict really?

840m to 970m is like going from a Chevy Cruze to a Chevrolet Camaro.

    i7-4810MQ to i7-4720MQ is inconsequential.

If you are buying it for gaming, spend the $440.

Which laptops are you considering because amount/speed of RAM, SSD vs HDD, and LCD screen type/resolution are also a significant factor.

I´m building a clevo just like you recomended to me in another forum D2!

Actually im just messing with all the avaiable sager laptops to se wich is the cheapest one for the configuration a need. The thing is a care more about processing power than grafics. The choice I've come acros is something like i7 4710 + GTX 970 or i7 4810 + GTX 870, both configurations are roughtly the same price.

The 970M is almost as powerful as four (4) 840M's (according to their 3DMark FireStrike 1080p scores).

Right. If you want to do serious gaming, like 1080p with a decent amount of detail there is no question 970m all the way. If all you do is play Starcraft and Peggle, well it won't matter a whole lot.

Easily the 970m. It destroys an 840m and beats a 870m by a fair bit.

The difference between a 4810 and 4710mq is insignificant and won't be realized at all. The difference between the GPUs however is huge to large.

In addition the 4710mq can be overclocked 200mhz and under volted to save temps a few degrees or more.
