If i underclock my GPU cores and memory speed, if i do have a possible defective GPU... would it help it longer its life? just slightly, so it wont affect proformance much.
warrantys ending in december, so i dont want it to fail befor then.

    Any opinions?

It wouldn't help. Underclocking doesn't change the voltage, which is what generates the heat.

It automatically underclocks depending on the application in use.

Wouldn't it be better to leave it at normal and let it fail, so that it can be replaced while still under warranty? I don't see why you'd want to extend it's life just past the end date of your warranty.
