first they get rid of mods and dedicated servers, now they expect us to go the xbox live route? i might have considered paying if they gave us the full package, but if they continue to put out stripped down games, never

Is there anybody who didn't see this coming? There's a reason they're forcing people to play multi-player their way and only their way. There are just so many things that the community formerly provided for free that they could charge for and not only that, but they can make the very mechanics unlockable (e.g. want to play a game with more people than 9v9? Now you can... for a price, of course).

no. never. if that happened i would still buy games, but only for single player (not activision games mind you). tf2 and cs:s are still great and will probably always (or until the next version) be my multiplayer game of choice

We spend in upwards of BILLIONS of dollars a year for games, some games which exceed $60 for ONE COPY!

And the fact that some of us who own Xbox 360 consoles (Like myself), have to pay $50 for a year subscription.

And now they are thinking about making us pay monthly to play a game like CoD?

Excuses the language, but this is f-en ridiculous.

What's next? The government going to start making us pay to use the roads? Oh wait, let me guess, they are going to make us pay to listen to the radio?

I wouldn't be surprised if it happened....

Tolls for using highways, federal tax, gas tax for use of roads. Satellite radio. :)

But yeah, I share your sentiments. This, along with DLCs and mico-transactions is getting pretty annoying.

LOL. Well you got me there, I just assumed those didn't count because we can't complain about it until they go away. Atleast with games, we don't have to buy them/play them, so the company suffers.

I don't know about you, but I aint' takin no bus to and from where I need to go, lol.

And good ole' fashion radio works fine with me. I ain't buyin into all that Satellite radio crap. How many radio stations to you need anyways? Lol

I would never pay for something like this. By letting them get away with no dedicated servers in Modern Warfare 2, we proved to them they can get away with anything.

@xTank Jones16x: Careful, symbols count as bypassing the filter which is against forum rules.

I'm wary of any subscriptions be it for cell phones or games, so no, I would not pay a monthly fee to play COD.

No no, a monthly subscription won't work for that.
No one will pay that for a fps lol.

WOW gets some mega maintenance from blizzard and crazy updates with a freakin' huge world. THAT is worth paying a monthly fee, and people know and accept it.

Now a fps is by general standards not worth a single penny in a monthly subscription, at least on pc. So don't start freaking out, this won't happen.

Absolutely not. I bought every single Call of Duty game without any hesitation, and this MW2 made me hesitate for a long time, but I still bought it. If Activision do anything else to the future games I will not buy them. I won't even bother reading their reviews, hell, I will not even bother downloading a pirated copy.
