Wow... my notebook (sig below) only got 1001 Marks in 3dMark 06.

Of course, I couldn't set any custom settings since I'm using the basic version.

I expected it to be better than that... oh well. I don't game anyway.

Well, I'm looking to the the Gateway C-143XL with the ATI X2300 128MB GDDR3.

I guess I should expect the same performance as the X1400 128MB DDR2; maybe a little better (hopefully).

Actually it's probably slower than your x1400. The x2300 is based on the x1300 with minor tweaks done to make it run cooler and more efficient but I doubt the x2300 is as fast as the x1400.

    X1300 for the win...

I'm holding out so I can have a 5,000% increase in gaming performance on my next upgrade. I am hoping I can make it to the next mobile platform upgrade. This would not be possible without my decently powered gaming desktop (8800 GTS 640mb) to hold me over.

I can't complain too much as the X1300 has actually been able to play some games decently for me. It runs WoW perfectly, as well as HL2 and BF2 at lower settings. I also somehow managed to play some Vanguard Saga of Heroes at 600x800 (that was very very painful).

    Even with the GDDR3 memory?

    That kind of surprises me.

You could look into anything with an ATI 3200 in it. Better battery life and better then x1600/7600/8400/2300/2400 gameplay as well as being a cheaper prices being an IGP.

The problem with that is... it isn't an option for the C-143XL.

It's either the Intel x3100 or the ATI x2300. I just don't want to "lose" anything going from the x1400 to the x2300. I thought that maybe the GDDR3 memory would be a good thing. Other than that, it looks to me that the specs of the Dell x1400 and the C-143XL x2300 are pretty close.

Also, I only play games like AoE2 and AoE3 on occasion. Other than that I watch DVDs, videos online, music, surf the web, school stuff, etc.

I really like the form factor of the C-143. Or else the Tx2500z would be great.

hd3200 could not beat a go 7600, even a crippled one.

Please don't hijack the thread. We aren't discussing NVIDIA.

I wasn't hijacking. I'm trying to say that the hd3200 is an igp and is capable of competing against low-end cards like 8400, but it could NOT beat last gen mid-range cards like x1600/go 7600.
    some people are overrating it.
