Hey all i just have a quick question on the X-Box 360 as far as the red ringing is concerned. If recent memory serves me correctly Microsoft issued a recall for all those consoles that broke, have shipments of "working" 360s been released? Me and my bro have decided to get a 360 but i'd rather not waste my money on something that has a chance of breaking on me within a few weeks.

that mostly happend to release day 360's the new ones are much better. besides that they all now have 3 year warranties. Ive had one for over a year, and its been fine. The rings did go all red on me once, after i forgot to turn it off after 2 days, but i unplugged it, plugged it back in, and it works fine.

There has never been a recall on 360's... your memory has failed you :p But there is a 3 year warranty on all 360's that receive the dreaded three red lights (red ring) of death---I don't know about the reliability of the new consoles, but the Pro now has HDMI so if you want the newest, find a Pro that has HDMI.

you should be fine with the white consoles too. If you have a TV with HDMI then the pro would be a good option. Otherwise save your money and get the white one, with the recent price drop.

Apparently, the red ring issue was fixed at the same time as they announced the 3-year warranty. No console manufactured from that point onward should run into the red ring problem... Apparently... From what MS have said (or what I remember them to have said)

So I think you should be safe.

No I don't, I mean the new Premiums (which I believe are also called Pro's now)... if you check certain boxes (new boxes) of the premiums, you will see that in fact an HDMI port has been added to the premiums, however the hdmi cable is not included...

The premiums are soon to have HDMI too.

Just get one, I've had mine since March of 06 and it's completely fine.

I just went out and exchanged my 360 for a new "HDMI" Pro (white) console. All HDMI equipped pro consoles have an added heatsink, the newer BenQ DVD Drive, and of course HDMI. My new console runs VERY quiet (almost as quiet as my PS3) and does not get nearly as hot as the old one. I definitely think its safe to buy one now. :)
