Well, I just received my new E1505 and I wanted to check with you guys regarding the X1400 GPU.

After installing the latest Omega drivers in place of the O.E. version, I was able to overclock to 580.50 for the GPU (from 432 stock) and 454.50 for the MEM (from 396 stock). What seems kind of off though is the benchmark results...

    Is this right (E1505, T2250, 1GB RAM)?

Also, when playing Call of Duty 2 (demo), I'm running right at 20 FPS using the "optimal system settings", which sets it at 800x600, 4x AA, and "normal" detail...

Is this appropriate performance for this GPU?

I would say that the above performance is slightly low, but only slightly, as it should pe rougly compareable to the x600, maybe slighlty lower than it. But it isnt that much off what i'd expect

I think you OC'ed that core a little too much, lay back to around 510 or so...the core doesnt really affect performance too much, its the memory speed.

Anyways, you might want to turn off AA or lower it to 2x, it really gives a bit performance hit so you may be able to bump up other settings.

well your 4x AA is whats killin ya man you have to turn it to either 2 x or off... the game will recomend it cause it will make it "look better" but when your only getting 20 fps its better to turn that down. you could also try running it in direct x 8 or 7 that should help with your fps rate...

That would be your issue right there.

800x600 with 4X AA and 20FPS is not that bad from a performance standpoint (I am surprised it can run at those settings), although definitely not playable. Shoot for 30+FPS.
I would stick to an 800x600 resolution; going to 1024x768 will probably drag down performance too far.
Also, don't forget to install the latest patch for CoD2, which enables dual-core support. It should give a noticeable performance boost:

I have found with the X1400 that it is generally not powerful enough to run with an AA in games. I have not tried CoD2 specifically. But wouldn't you prefer higher details/resolution before you go for AA?

I could understand applying AA once you are at native resolution with full details.

Those benchmark scores do seem a little low, but that could be attributed to ATTs limited support of the X1400, which seems to take a backseat to the likes of the X1900. Try benchmarking with something like 3DMark05 and comparing your scores for that.

    Thanks everyone for the replies!

Utilizing the overclocking settings of 580/450, I'm getting right at 2200 on 3DMark05, so it looks like I'm doing just fine for this GPU...(?).

Regarding the framerate and AA, it's actually very much playable at 20 FPS, encountering only a slight stumble in very "intense" scenes...turning off AA completely gives me just a couple more FPS.

    Thanks,

    Justin

Really, AA makes a HUGE impact on my GPU, it is AF that only drops it by a little. AA at even 2X drops the FPS from 50 to 20. I don't really see the benfit either.
