I recently ran 3Dmark05 on my T60 with an X1400 and got a score of 2460 with stock settings. I did a little searching in the forums trying to find an average score for this card and it seemed to be around 1600-2000, do those number look right? If they are why did my card score higher?

Yes they look right. You have to remember some laptop makers ship their cards with different clock speeds.

Doesn't the score depend on resolution and level of filtering used?

there is no way the x1400 scored 3000 on 3dmark 05 at 1280x800.

Yea and his x1400 thread is a bit full of bs. He says he's running CS:S with everything at high, yet the textures are obviously at low. And his oblivion settings say he has 2x aa on, but the actual gameplay screenshots show obviously no aa (and obviously oldblivion water quality).

... are you questioning my honesty/preformance on my computer?

Oblivion is not that hard to run first off. And CS can run maxed out. So obviously i have the wrong res on 3dmark, but you dont have to go rantting on other things i have posted on, and yet, they probobly things you dont know too much about.

And 2, my X1400 was overclocked heavily 545/445

I know enough to spot bs. You're saying you ran CS:S with everything high? Then why do the textures obviously look like they're at LOW? They're blurred. They're low resolution.

    Case in point: http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa252/IIIM3/hl22007-05-0520-43-20-17.jpg

You say you had AF (Anisotropic Filtering) set to 16x? How come the road texture says otherwise? Notice the lower quality as it extends? That's occurring way too close to be 16x AF. Also, notice the back of the counter-terrorist model? The texture is way too low resolution to be even considered set at 'high'.

Next, the oblivion screenshots. According to this screenshot, you had anti-aliasing set to 2x. Yet, according to all the other screenshots ( 1, 2, 3, and 4), aa is obviously off (notice the jagged edges?). Water quality is also not 'high quality'.
    ... right...

osserpese....about the water in oblivion, it used to look the same on my laptop too when i turned it to HIGH....but when i turned on HDR, and applied the latest patch to oblivion, the water looked much more like real water :) but the Counter Strike screenshot i can see your point

yeah.. the cs screenshots say alot.

I am an avid cs player, and those definitely are not high settings.

You could easily run the game at high on your x1400.. but there is on way you are getting 83 fps with 16xaa and high settings. No way period.

ok man, lets pick the worst screenshot of the bunch, and a custom map too. And if you keep reading on the thread, you would see that i was one of those 3% that had a problem with their game, and had to run it in Dx7/8/8.1. So lets look at some with that problem fixed and screenshots taken with those settings, these :
    With AA X4 AF X16
    [IMG]
    With AA X6 AF X16
    [IMG]
The Way I play with settings in the 1st Screenshot, GPU underclocked (im in a car currently, and im using Verizon mobile Web, Its pretty cool!)
And second off, im just trying to tell people what experiences I HAVE had with my computer, not what you guys GUESS.

Congratulations, you were caught in a lie and are trying to get yourself out of it. Running in "Dx7/8/8.1" doesn't automatically lower the texture resolution to go with it, the most it'd do would be to remove any sort of pixel shading (in dx7 mode, that is) and cause objects to fade out of view closer. Example? DX7 and DX9. The textures are the same resolution, with the only difference being the lack of bump/specular mapping.
Please. You're posting saying you're running at a certain detail level, but instead playing at a lower quality level, just to show inflated frame rates to a few people.

I probably won't be responding to this thread again. People who need to lie about game settings (wow) really disappoint me.

No, really, run the game in DX 7/8/8.1, and you will notice display/texture settings. And im not lieing about those settings once again...

<s>Why are you lumping all three of those versions together? DX8/8.1 is a huge step up from 7. Either way, the only difference in texture quality between DX7 and the others is the fact that DX7 does not support the bump maps, pixel shading, or specular maps that the above versions do. The texture resolution remains constant.

    Please, look here: http://gear.ign.com/articles/567/567437p1.html

That'll show you all the differences in HL2 between DX7, 8(.1), and 9.</s>

EDIT: I don't feel like arguing anymore. G'day.
