    X1400 Automatically downclocks to 392/252

    Hi,

    I usually overlock (using ATITool) the x1400 from 430/392 to 560/430 without any artifacts or stability problems, however now the clock cannot be changed from 392/252!! I tried to uninstalling/installing both drivers and atitool but not use! any help plz

    Is the laptop plugged in ?
    When the laptop is on battery it underclocks to save power.

    those are some big overclocks for a x1400:O

    yeah its plugged in I also tried to turn off powerplay but no use

    ok I did some searching and found out that it was a temprature problem, it turns out that ATI overdrive clockes down the GPU to decrease the temprature, so what I did is I shutdown the pc, wait a while to cool down and the GPU clock speed returned to normal... :)
