From what I can tell there isn't much difference. Which will run games better on a E1505.

OH yeah do you think it will run Halo 2? H2 will run on DX9 and is one of the first games that will come out for Vista

I think DX10's "emulation-only" stance towards previous versions of DirectX, combined with the generally atrocious performance of 32-bit Vista, will hamper the ability to really enjoy Halo 2 on anything short of an FX-62 and 7900GTX SLI. That said, it may run, but your best bet if gaming on Vista is a concern for you is to wait for the 64-bit Core 2 Duo and true DX10 GPUs.

In the here and now, the x1400 is the ever-so-slightly faster of the two cards for the e1505, except in OpenGL games (Doom 3, Quake 4, and Prey being the relevant examples).

So get the X1400, I can't wait very long. Does Microsoft use OpenGL often?

Microsoft never programs with OpenGL - not surprising since Direct3D is their own proprietary API. Furthermore, rumor (and current Beta benchmarks) shows that like old versions of Direct3D, OpenGL will be handled through emulation on Vista - a serious blow to performance in games like Doom 3.

The only major game engine in use right now that is OpenGL is the Doom 3 engine (and World of WarCraft), plus Linux and MacOS necesarily have OpenGL-powered versions of many games, including UT2004 and Generals.

Halo 2 does not exist on PC..yet. Either way, Dell is ripping you off by making you pay more for the Go7300. The X1400 is faster as stated.

They are working on it as we speak and are converting it for better use on the pc. Just go to Bungie.com and look at a certain weekly update they have.

yes, the x1400 is a mid range card while the 7300 is the lowest end nvidia makes.

Yeah the X1400 definitly better than the 7300. In fact the 7400 and the X1400 are better matched, they are almost identical in performance. So for you definily go with the X1400 instead of the 7300.
