X1400...why doesn't ATI even have drivers for it on its web site? the best I could find was from my laptop manufacturer which is about one year old. I tried similar drivers from the ATI place and it wouldn't install.

I've plugged in a 24 inch 1920.1200 monitor into the laptop and it ionly works at a lower resolution and fuzzy...however if I put it as a secondary desktop extension it seems to work at 1920.1200 really nicely. I want it as a clone monitor, and the resolution just won't set.

what's more, the driver settings window is completely jumbled saying that both monitors are swapped round and that one of them is on 640 and the other one on 1440, the one that says 640 actually looks like 1920 and it's all really confusing! the driver seems to think that the attached monitor is a generic thing it should really provide monitor model ID in the monitor options.

what can I do? Are there any workarounds for this?
