    HI. :p

I've been looking for half an hour in this site for x1600 overclocking, but didnt really find anything like telling you from the beginning to the end how to do it.

First of all, I would like to know how to do it. :D

Secondly, is this true? (words from Chaz :) ) :"A 60Hz refresh rate, which 99% of laptops have, displays 30FPS max." I cannot believe it :( !! ive played CoD on my machine with 60Hz, and got 92 fps!!!

Thirdly and finally, are Unreal Engines more favourable for ATI or Nvidia? So will a Unreal Engine based games ran better by Ati X1600 or Nvidia 7600  ?

    THANKS U ALL!! :)

You didn't find anything?! So I guess you wasn't looking hard enough ;) http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=56531. And about Unreal Engine - look at the topic at the top of gaming forum, X1600 vs GF7600. There is an answer.

BTW. OCing doesn't void the warranty because this is almost undetectable process. Still dangerous though.

Technically it will void your warranty, but really... how the heck will they ever be able to tell? :p Just be sure to always play it safe. Increase the core and memory, little by little and run 3dmark to check for artifacts.

umm my understanding is that lcd screens dont use a specific hz rate of refresh... the factor is how quickly the pixels can change color. at 16ms (average response), you are looking at a theoretical average of 62 displayed fps.

unreal engine favors neither nvidia or ati, that is specific to the game.
unreal tournament 2004 favors nvidia, i know other games on the same engine favor ati.

im pretty sure the x1600 is considered the more powerful of those 2 gpu's anyway... go look at some benchmarks and decide for yourself

I believe what was meant by the remark about 60hz monitors is that the 60hz monitor DISPLAYS no more than 30 fps. So while your video card may certainly be producing 90 fps or whatever, your monitor is only displaying 30 fps. In other terms, changes in framerate above 30 fps aren't noticeable (i.e. if your framerate dropped from 80 fps to 70 fps you wouldn't be able to see a difference)

    THank you all!!!

Now, I was saying Unreal Engine, cos brothers in arms is based on it. So does Brothers in arms run better on a X1600 or a 7600???

I think ive asked this before, but wanted to make sure:

You know Bia hells higway is coming Q1 2007. It is based on Unreal Engine 3. Do you think that with an HP NC8430 (core duo 1.83, 1024RAM, x1600 256Mb dedicated) ill be able to run the game 40fps, at 1024 x 768, no AA, no AF, medium - high quality??

Finally, just to make sure, Mobility x1600 almost same as desktop 6800gt, isnt it? Or even better ;-)?

    THANKS U ALL

It is on par with the 6800 though the 6800 ultra beats it in benchmarks. I don't think there is a 6800 gt.
