Which would you prefer? X1600 w/Up to 512MB HyperMemory or nVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GTX with 256MB Embedded GDDR3 memory?

Go for the 7900GTX. Its way more powerful than the X1600. In any case, the x1600 cant use all of its 512 MBs properly so its the same in terms of RAM, you end up with 256 used and 256 on stnadby the whole time. It would be nice if the 7900GTX had 512... nevertheless it still beats the ATI card by a long shot.

The X1600 still wins in 3dmark05 scores. But they are both great cards and score very close. The X1600 usualy wins by around 200pts in 3dmark05, about 5% faster I'd say. I don't think many games can take advantage of 512MB's of dedicated memory. But in the future the 7600 might outperform the X1600. The two cards are very powerful cards to be found in 14" notebooks.
