I'm thinking about getting an external monitor...22" or maybe even 24"...but I'm afraid the X1600 in my S96J wouldn't be able to handle the native resolutions on a 22" or 24". What's the highest resolution that an X1600 can decently handle? Both while just general web browsing and playing games (I really just play Warcraft 3 and CS 1.6, btw, so not too taxing anyways).

    Thanks!

it can easily handle warcraft at 1400x900 without lags i did it with mine ati radeon 9250 (desktop) so considering thatati x1600 is 2 generations newer and at least 4 times more powerfull it shouldnt surprise if it can handle the max resolution. same with cs 1,6

As wolfraider said, it shouldn't have any trouble reaching thoose resolutions. The Mobility X1600 is still a fairly powerful graphics card and WOW isn't a massively taxing game.

i run dual monitors both at 1280X800 but, anyways, i can easily play CS:S running through an external monitor (which seems to be more intensive on your GPU, rather than on your native monitor)

My laptop has an x1600 128 mb and it's hooked up to a 24" screen. Plays Warhammer Dawn of War at 1920x1200 just fine :)
