What drivers do people use for their X1700 mobility cards if your laptop is not supported buy ATI?

I am considering the omega or Driver heaven mod but want some feed back from people that have used them.

The X1700 is not supported at all by ATI.
They either use drivers from their manufacturer or use the DriverHeaven's tool to modify them AFAIK.

ATI Catalyst 7.5 for XP works with the X1700 in my Samsung X60 plus. However, there is no trace of PowerPlay, but there has been, even with the original Samsung driver. I'm still waiting, after 7 months, for ATI and Samsung to get their act together and get PowerPlay working.

The Omega driver is a good alternative and supports a better range of resolutions than the Catalyst.

Samsung keeps insisting that ATI hasn't developed PowerPlay for the X1700. However, the X1700 contains PowerPlay according to ATI's web site: 'ATI’s Mobility Radeon™ X1700 enables high performance-per-watt operation and longer battery life with mobile-specific features for notebook PCs. ATI’s PowerPlay™ 6.0 power management technology features ..." Samsung really need to get their update act together.

I don't think any company nowadays is scared from giving out fake specs if they can get away with it.
