Just bought a laptop with onboard x200M, I just wanted to know, what's the max I should put it's dedicated memory to? 256mb? 512mb (is it worth going that high?)?

    NO!

Its not worth putting it past 128mb at all.

    Shared memory is not good.

Oh, so the performance would be the same if I had 512mb or 128mb dedicated to it even if I had excess memory for the system?

If you have 128 MB dedicated and shared up to 512 MB, dont use Hypermemory. That is beacuse your videocard isnt powerfull enough to fully use 256 MB or 512 MB. It would be a waste of your RAM.

Sorry, I mean shared, not dedicated. So the x200 will only ever be able to use up to 128mb?

If you have a shared X200 then do this: If it is, for example, 32 Mb dedicated and shared up to 256/512 MB just share it up to 128 MB. 32 MB is a small amount for that videocard, 128 MB is ideal.

If you're not gaming, leave it at 32mb. You won't need anymore then that for basic desktop functions.
