Yeah that is a pretty good deal for a laptop.

1.66GHz is plenty for today's gaming. Besides, all but the laptops packing the highest end of video cards will be GPU limited. The 8700M-GT is not powerful enough to use more than 256MB of memory anyway so that does not matter.
I'd agree - the resolution is a little low for those used to WSXGA+ screens but it is still a decent resolution. It's a small step up from WXGA.

If this laptop can handle World in Conflict at high settings.......then it could handle games in the future for the time being.

8700m gt sure can handle WIC.

But my own experience with it tend to suggest that its internals are significantly hindered by CPU.... when I play games, the cpu tend to hit 100% most time and when it does, the fps drops or stutter often....

Also, someone else managed to change his X205 CPU from 1.8Ghz to 2.4Ghz - a 30% cpu upgrade,
but results in 80% fps increase in real performance in games like FEAR....

So a small cpu upgrade will results in massive improvement in overall GPU performance... at least for the 8700m GT in X205.

There is always an upgrade to the cpu if I think performance is subpar :)
