    Hi,
I just got a toshiba x205 and I downloaded steam, but as soon as I open it...it goes to the screen where it starts to show the update news but it just gets stuck there and doesn't do anything.
Any advice on what I should do?
    Thanks

Hi - I fought with the same problem for a couple hours last night. Don't disable UAC - You need to go to File-->Settings and then choose the Steam Community Beta. It runs steam as a service

You should also disable UAC if you easily get annoyed by it.... Unless your completely computer stupid...then you should leave it on
