Hi,
Do you think that "X3 terran conflict" is playable on :
Acer 6935G
P8400 2x2,26GHz
GF9600M 512DDR3
4GB DDR3
If YES - what settings?

Yes it will be playable, I would start at low settings, and do not turn any sort of AA/AF on. The issue is going to be during bigger fights you will see your frames drop, that is the best place to test your settings. Enjoy that game though, it's great!

Thx for your quick reply - will see how it looks

So for fans of the "X" universe, would you recommend X2: The Threat, X3: Reunion or X3: Terran Conflict first? Do they build on each other or are they just improvements over previous versions? Considering that it is a sandbox game, I can't see how it would expand any story?

I have played all of those, and I can say the story gets progressively worse as they go on to the point that I don't know if I would recommend playing the story of Terran conflict at all. They definitely have an arc that continues through them all, and there are unique game play situations in the story missions that you can't do during the normal sandbox gameplay.
One of the beauties of the game is that at just about any point in the story you can stop and build up your empire or at least save up some credits to buy a better ship, alot of objectives aren't timed.
They are fantastic games for any who like space flight sims, and whats more is there is alot of empire building and real time strategy thrown in. -
I could never get in to that game. Seemed like you had to have a joystick to really enjoy it. I never got in to the control scheme. Could never figure what the next objective was.

Its a very open ended game, I mean if you really want to chat about the game I'd be glad to lend assistance to it. The X series in definitely one of those outstanding but underappreciated games.
I do not use a joystick, occasionally I will use a controller but I usually end up going back to the mouse and keyboard, especially if I am in a capital.
If you arent doing a story technically the game has no objectives, you can take it as far as youd like, sticking with the fighter you start off with or building a trading empire with stations in just about every system with a fleet of universal traders and warships. -
I bought this when it came out and still haven't installed it. I want to try it soon, I just hope it fits what I want from it. (mostly combat)
X3 terran conflict - will it be playable?
