Does anyone have any idea how these two cards compare to each other? I have an Inspirion 8600 with the 9600 ATI and it works fine for me I barely ever play any games, but when I do, it handles them fine (civilization, C&C, strategy games, almost no 3D)

I'm looking to buy the new Sony FZ series and it comes with the X3100 Intel. I can't configure a system from where I live so I have to go with the x3100 version or the Blue-ray/8400m GT version. I can't find the version with the 8400m GT without the blue-ray (that I find useless for me).

My question is will I find the x3100 much weaker then my actuel 9600?

from some benchmarks that I saw from both the x1250 and the intel x3100 (this X in intel is the reason that amd now call the 2xxx series hd and not X??) they seem to be near the 9600se performance, but the drivers are bad, so it may not be compatible with various games

Yes, it will be noticeably weaker, if you plan on doing any 3D gaming get a dedicated card.
