    Hi guys.

After doing some testing, I found out that the X3100 does BF2 at 1280x800 quite admirably and actually enjoyably at low. The Source engine is a completely different story - it just chokes and sputters at low at the same res. What is wrong here? Clearly, BF2's engine is far more demanding than the outdated Source engine. Would someone be able to clarify this?

I updated the driver today so probably that is not it.

I have read that Source can be played on an old Duron 900.

I was able to play it but with hacked autoexec that made it unstable.

It's been more or less concluded that Intel has some horribly coded drivers, unfortunately.

    Specs: 1.46 GHz Pentium Dual-Core, 1GB RAM, 120GB 5400RPM, and the X3100.

I am running Vista HP 32-bit, services tweaked down to ~60% RAM usage idle. This is off of a fresh 'Power' degrag (twice the defragmentation of a normal defrag, fragmentation reports 0%).
