Will the X3100 run the full Windows Aero Glass Interface on a 15.4" widescreen w/ WSXGA+ flawlessly? Just wanted to know because I am looking forward to my Thinkpad in sig to arrive and had a last minute question.

Yes, it'll run Aero Glass. It will also run older games like Half Life 2 and CSS very well after a quick driver update. The X3100 is a pretty powerful card for as far as integrated graphics are concerned. It scores a 3.4 in the Vista experience index.

Awesome, so it will run Aero perfectly (no hiccups) and will it run Command & Conquer Generals, how about Raven Shield or Far Cry at low settings? Thanks again for quick replys!

Far Cry? Now you are really pushing it... I guess RPG games would be playable, and CS, but demanding FPS is asking too much of it.

If you're getting it for university/college, chances are you'll 1) not have much time for gaming or 2) game too much and do poorly. I found it was mostly #1, although I do indulge when on my co-op terms.

Far Cry should also work fine, even with the current beta drivers. Generals and Raven Shield it will sail through, they even work on the older GMA900/950.

It will run Generals and Raven Shield at high settings easily, Far Cry, not sure to be honest, but speculating I'd say fairly medium-high settings - hopefully.

I ran C&C Generals on Vista using the old drivers with medium details and it works fine :)
