    X3100 seeing less Memory in XP than VISTA?

    Hello, i recently changed from Vista to XP and i installed all the drivers and stuff however my max memory under XP is 128 MB and it says Min 8 and in use 10 MB while in Vista it was 251 Max, min 8 and in use 128 MB... why is my MAX in XP less than Vista??
    Toshiba U305 - x3100 using the latest XP drivers
    2 GB RAM
    Core 2 Duo

    Different drivers = different results. In the end, it doesn't matter.

    It doesn't matter because the card cannot perform for gaming, which is the only real senario from which a GPU would benefit from more memory.

    Non-gaming applications do not need much GPU memory at all, thus the super low allocation of system RAM to the GPU.

    well i on Vista i was able to play M3 challenge with the highest settings with really good fps while in XP i had artifacts and it was slow :(

    and the resolution was 1280x800, the native for my screen

    im running x3100 with latest 14.31.1 XP drivers, it says 384 max memory
    , i do occasionally get artifacts and missing textures in cs:source

    But how can i change the max to what it was under vista? :eek: i am really lost here... i have all the drivers installed on laptop...

    Did you not get it with the first few posts? The amount of RAM doesn't matter. It's Vista in general, or the different drivers that's causing the slowdown.
