They are both mid-level cards, with about the same levels of performance. The Go7400 is newer. Refer to this excellent GPU guide.

Alright thanks. I was wondering if I should get a Dell XPS M1210 over my current Dell Latitude D420 and Gateway MX7515.

    The 7400Go is better because:

    - X600 has around 1600 3dmark05 scores while the 7400Go has 2000. The reason for the higher score is also the Core (2) Duo but we can say that the 7400Go is equal to the X600.
    - The 7400Go is a newer card and supports never features like SM 3.0.
    - The 7400Go has lower power consumptions.

    Charlie :)

Why do you need to buy a new notebook with the Go 7400 when you have one with the X600? That would not be a big deal in your case IMHO.

Overall the 7400 is a more superior card to the X600.. The X600 only had the same power as the 6400. The 7400 isnt "too" far behind the X700 in gaming performance.. Dont always rely on the performance scores from the 3D benchmarks. The 7400 is about 25-30% faster than the 6400 and i would say 20-25% faster than the X600..
