    Hey guys/gals,

I had a question about my x700 in my ferarri, I was wondering how to enable hyper memory so that i can have 256mb of video ram, I know its not the smartest thing to do but i have 2gbs of ram and they are not getting used so thought might put a little more stress on them, and these days 128mb is not cutting it anymore. any help will be greatly appreciated. Chaz, Coriolosis I know you two can help me so don't pretend not to see the thread ( just playing :p ).

    Thanks in advance :D

    Hey,
Chaz i may not have the latest drivers but im very happy with the cat 6.4's i think thats new enough and I benifit alot from the 6.4's as you can see my 3dmark score is pretty good. But it still does not enable hypermemory any thoughts?

When you install the latest drivers for ATI, it automatically initiates Hypermemory.

It may not show HyperMemory is enabled anywhere, but it is. Anything above Catalyst 5.7 enables it automatically. The drivers you have now are fine. 6.7 are out as mentioned, but I haven't heard anything about them yet.

    liquidxit2,
don't you mean breaking the 4k barrier because a x1600 should perform almost double as a x700.

No I mean 3k as I have the 128mb x1600 and 384mb virtual ram. Funny thing is that the rule of thumb is 2k 3dmarks for medium modern gameplay and 4k for max settings; but I play max settings all the time without lag(minus the thrashing from the lack of system ram)

The X1600 is not double the power of the X700, just to clarify. The 256MB versions get around 3800-4000 points in 3DMark05. I get 3,300 on an overclocked 256MB X700.
    The 128MB X1600's get around 2800-3000 stock.
