    Hey,

I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what kind of improvement can be expected between an X700 mobility and an X1700/7700 Go (stock config). Assume they're both 256 mb, and the computer has a T7200 and 2 Gigs of Ram. Synthetic and Real Game benchmarks would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    7700 > X1700 > X700

The 7700 is the best and the X1700 is second best, the X700 is a bit outdated now.

There is a large difference between the X700 and the X1700/Go7700. An X700 256MB (only a handful of notebooks had the 256MB version; the majority came with 128MB) gets about 2,800 points in 3DMark05. The X1700 and Go7700 both get 4,000+, not sure of the exact numbers.
Now, I know that using synthetic benchmarks is not the best way to compare performance, but it's the only real benchmark I have to compare with.

In newer games is where you will see the most improvements in performance.
