If you don't mind the eye strain, small font, and small text, then the WUXGA screen would be a worthy choice otherwise stick with the WXGA+, it's easier on the eyes.

You must be talking about the Inspiron 9300, 9400, or e1705. I love my truelife screen. My suitmate has a i6000 with the matte screen, and its ok. For hands on decision making, travel to a Best Buy (or anyplace that sells laptops) and take a look at the screens. That would be the best way to choose.

You can up the DPI on the WUXGA screen for easier reading. If you get the WXGA screen and it is too big you are stuck. I'd second going and looking at some if you can. Keep in mind the WUXGA screen is glossy, the WXGA+ is matte.

It is definitely a good idea to try and see it before you buy. On Dell's website, there's a kiosk locator, so you can find the one nearest you. Normally, they're in a mall.

What resolution display are you using now?

i got the display with truelife. and i do admit its worth the 145. the screen looks hell clear but i do admit some of the fonts are ridiculously small. but during gameplay (since this is in the gaming section) its great.
