    Hello everyone..
Few months ago I got my XPS1640 laptop (HD4670 + 4GB RAM).. I thought that with its specs I won't have a problem playing games like Left4Dead and Call of Duty.. but sadly I was wrong. I thought that L4D and CoD are heavy games so I thought it might be ok for my laptop not to handle them on high settings, but the shock was when I played League of Legends which is a game that years old laptops run without any problem. I expected Windows Vista to be the problem but then I upgraded to Win7 and while the performance is slightly better I still lag and sometimes experience weird screen freeze in League of Legends (which my friend's years old HP laptop runs on high settings without a problem) and I can't run L4D on 1920x1080 low settings!

Long story short: I have the exact same laptop with same specs like this guy ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lLiXqw5odPY) but my laptop lags even in much less demanding games! using windows 7 and I always make sure I don't have programs running on the background while playing.. what can I do? :((

    Thanks <3

Use the Mobility Modder from the 2nd link to modify the driver in the 1st link. Yeah, it's a very convoluted and roundabout way of doing things...you can thank Dell and their desire to have control over third party drivers for that. ;)

OK I did it and restarted the laptop.. I'm actually not sure about the performance difference.. is there anyway to make sure that I did it right? check the version of something or something? :p

It you see no performance difference go to your task bar and make sure its on high performance. If you see no difference after a driver update call dell. You should be able to l4d2 and mw2 at 1280 x 720 or so. I can run l4d2 at 1280x720 all highest no shadows and get a constant 30fps
