Hi. I posted this under the Dell section, but I thought I might post it here too. Is that ok?

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey there. I'm new here. I need big time help. My brand new Dell XPS M1730 (with 8700m SLI + PhysEx) is cr*p. :) But, seriously, the first time I turned it on it quickly went to 100% CPU usage constantly - turns out this was the TrusterInstaller.exe Windows Update process causing this issue. Killed it and now it runs pretty good when idle.

Now, my big problem is that when I play games (specifically Sims 2 in this case), after 30-60mins of playing it the CPU usage hits 95-100% constantly and I have to quit out. I'm only playing it on Medium settings with a conservative resolution. Has anyone else had problems with the M1730? I have tried it with both SLI on and off and it still has problems. I've killed alot of unnecessary background processes (Windows Search etc) and that helped with system idle time but not with games.

I've sent an e-mail to Dell but haven't heard anything yet.

I need some help/advice big time. I might post this in the Games section too.

Anyway, nice to meet you all :p

This is probably a stupid question but have you set your power settings to max performance and not battery? If you haven't give that a try and see if it helps.
