    Logitech question

I am considering either the wired or wireless versions of the Logitech Rumblepad 2. Any advice on which one is worth the money and which is a better functioning controller overall?

As of now, I am actually leaning towards the wired version because it is cheaper and has more positive reviews with vista compatibility and driver issues.

I've read a few reviews of the wireless Rumblepad and some people have faced driver issues and other problems with it on Vista. In addition, the official Logitech website doesn't include Vista as a compatible OS in the specifications section for the Wireless Rumblepad. http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/gaming/pc_gaming/gamepads/devices/287&cl=us,en

And another thing that bothers me with the wireless rumblepad is the huge wireless receiver that comes with it. I thought the receiver was going to be as small as the Logitech mouse receivers but pics on the net show it is a bulky device.

And on a sidenote...has anyone tried the Chillstream controller?

    Question about both

There is definitely a price difference between the two wired PC controllers (Xbox 360 and Logitech Rumblepad 2).

However, I'd like some advice on which has more compatibility with different games and also which has lesser driver issues with Vista?

Also, are both controllers fully customazible? Or is the customization of controls only a feature of the Logitech Rumblepad 2?

I bought the 360 controller by Microsoft and it's worked with all the games I've tried... I use Vista and it automatically knew it was a 360 controller and required no drivers at all. The controller even works with games created bfore the 360 was.

I've tired it with: BioShock, NFS ProStreet, 18 Wheels of Steal

I am not using vista but I have owned a total of 3 wired and 3 wireless version. :p The problem is the wired version is that after about 12months, the end of the wire where the wire and the controller meets starts to break. It happened with all 3 wired controllers.

The wireless version is far better then again I am using XP. Although I do reacall the wireless controller working perfectly fine with my friend's Inspiron 1520 running Vista Home premium (plug and play). The reason I have 3 is because I left 1 at hoe and bought 2 from ebay for a total of $50. :D

The receivers arent THAT big. Hasnt caused any annoyance at all.

Thanks for the advice and also merging my posts. Sorry for that cross-posting thing.

Anyways, are the 3 wired and 3 wireless controllers you are referring to all Xbox 360 controllers? Or have you owned Logitech Rumblepads as well?

My vote goes for the XBOX 360 controller as well. It is an extremely well polished product which has also proven to be compatible with any game I've hooked it up to.

Go with the XBox pad. But get the XBCD drivers. You may need a special guide to set them up.

Ok. Thanks everyone for your advice.

However, I have one last question...

Are the drivers for both Xbox 360 controllers (wired and wireless) the same? Or do I need to download separate drivers depending on which one I get (considering one is plugged directly into the USB, plug-and-play; while the other has a receiver)?
