I was thinking of getting this controller for my XPS 710. The only i read that was bad about this controller was the lack of drivers and no deadzone.
can i get some feed back from people who has this control?

there are drivers, maybe not updates every week but there are. no dead zones are good, that means that you are connected. do you mean the wireless one or the wired?

Buy the XBOX 360 controller for the XBOX 360 and not windows because it will be like 10 dollars cheaper or something like that. It is cheaper because they don't come with the drivers but you can download the drivers online at Microsoft's website.
You can also use these drivers: http://xbcd360guide.50webs.com/index.html
These are modified drivers that you can change the keys around so they fit your needs =) -

Yes the xbcd drivers are much better. its just like the saitek software for there gamepads that was always worshiped.

it took me like 40 mins to find the driver for windows XP (because I don't have the software CD). I'm using the 360 controller that came with my 360 (the controller is wireless). I'm using the recharge thing to connect by USB to this PC. My problem is that the drivers aren't working because windows xp isn't picking up the controller for some strange reason =/. I don't if it's because i'm using a wireless controller/charger to connect via USB, but it's getting annoying. Perhaps the system needs another reboot?

A reboot can never hurt
You have to have a wireless adapter for the pc to use the wireless controller on the pc tho.
Here is the cheapest I have found it:
http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-Wireless-Gaming-Receiver-Windows/dp/B000HZFCT2
I am not sure if it uses the same drivers or if its compatible with the xbcd drivers tho since I have not had to chance to use one. I dont mind the cord tho personally.
If the controller is hooked up properly tho you dont even have to find the drivers, windows update will get them for you automaticly.
oh take note that that adapter will allow you to use the wireless 360 headsets and racing wheel and stuff with your pc aswell. Pretty much any wireless 360 device up to 4 of them at a time. -
thanks for telling me that
