Can I use my xbox 360 headset (the new one) with a comp using the keyboard and not the 360 controler?

The xbox head set is 2.5mm so it will not work strait into a computer. But you can get cheap ones for $10.

I have not used a 360 controller on a PC but from what I have heard they are a real hassle.

Sure. Pick up an adapter at Radioshack. They will know exactly what you need. :D

360 wired controller works great on a PC. Plug it in and go. You may have to configure the button mapping in the control panel for your personal tastes but that is all.

the Controller is amazing :) Probably the best controller for the PC that is out there. Detects and maps almost all games by itself. Multi platform games like Fallout 3 have the same controls as on the 360. You dont even need to install any drivers since vista does that by itself for u.
Not sure if the headset works though

yes kudos to all, i love my wired controller on my pc, and yea like was said before, it maps it all automatically on games like Fallout 3, in Fallout it even changed like the buttons that it tells u to press in game to show the xbox controller buttons rather than keyboard buttons its really cool. Its like playing the xbox version but with better graphics lol

If you have a 2.5mm headset port on your computer then you are good to go.

Otherwise you need to buy a 2.5mm to 2x 3.5mm adapter which will allow you to plug it into the microphone and headphones ports on most computers.

It should also work just by plugging it into a wired xbox 360 controller that is plugged into your PC.

After hooking it up, go to your audio devices list and make sure both the mic and the speakers in the headset are enabled.

You may have to manually update your soundcard drivers as well, because at least with some notebooks, vista auto update will install the wrong ones, or won't update them at all.
