I doubt that the temp would be affected. This driver is modded something like the omega driver. Basically it kind of give you a performance boost while gaming (best driver I tested so far is Xtreme-G 10.5m which gives me an average of 2-5 fps increase in gaming). Also what kind of temperature are you getting (idle & load)? You might want to clear the fan/vents of any accumulated dust or reapply the thermal paste. One more thing, check whether the fan is actually working.

    Thanks for the reply....

Yeah the fan is running properly and it has no dusts inside....
If i play low graphics games like Age of Empires II then it goes well...
but if try anything heavy like Ghost Recon Advanced War fighter then it goes off within 5 mins....
and also the bottom is burning like oven... i searched in web and tried various things...

i purchased laptop cooler but no use...
and in this forum some ppl were saying about creating holes in the vent may solve the prob so i followed (here is the link http://forum.notebookreview.com/acer/481690-acer-5738g-bottom-vent-built-closed.html) and made few holes but still no improvement...

the worst part is i cant even play NFS most wanted in ma sys bcas of this prob... i cud play nfs hotpursuit only....

Could you post the GPU temp (idle & load)? Use HWMonitor or GPU-Z to monitor the cpu/gpu temps. You could also try Everest (trial version) to check on the fan rpm (work for my Asus M50Sa and G73JH).

since the processor & the gpu share the same cooling system on the 5738G, you can undervolt the CPU which will yield huge temp drops on both the CPU and GPU

I run my processor on 0.9375 volts on the highest multiplier and my processor temp never reaches 70 and my GPU hits 86 max which aint really quite bad because I live in Egypt and my room temp reaches 35 C sometimes

here is the link to the undervolting guide it is quite an easy process with huge results http://forum.notebookreview.com/har...arket-upgrades/235824-undervolting-guide.html

As for the Xtreme-G 10.10m I gained HUGE fps boost my DiRT2 fps got bumped up from 24.2 avg & 29.7 max to 28.6 avg & 34.4 max and DAO got a solid +5 fps on average .... also some people reported fps gains on fallout & GTA IV

I recommend that driver to anyone with a HD4570

    Hi Nara,

Thanks for your suggestion... Now the issue is solved as i undervolted.... presently the temp in idle is 45-55 C, While playing games it goes max of 85-90C... but it never switched off till now even after playing for hours.

And the issue now is i cant see GPU temp section in HWMonitor... it shows only ACPI, 2 core temp, HD and Battery... but not GPU... how can i monitor GPU temperature... waiting for your reply.... :)

Is the reason you can't see the temps in HWMonitor due to undervolting? You could give HWiNFO32, GPU-Z or Open Hardware Monitor a try. To monitor the fps while gaming, use Fraps.

you are welcome mate ..... as for your question about monitoring fps you can use a program called FRAPS download it and let it run in the background and it will tell you how much fps you are getting at one corner of your screen

I have seen a couple of people with crossfire setups of 2x5770 (desktop) reporting that these are the best stutter free drivers they ever had when combined with a certain ATI application profiles version which I really cant remember :S ... but it was a recent one ... you will need it (the apps profile) to enable the Xfire in modern titles

btw. the HD5780m is based on the desktop Radeon HD 5770 but it is underclocked ... so the same improvements apply
