John.

nVidia is working on a unified driver. Not sure when it's coming out but for now there is only 1-2 versions of stock drivers.
-
Tinderbox (UK) BAKED BEAN KING
So what`s an unified driver?
John.
-
And whats wrong with the OEM stock driver?
They should be based on the 296 or the 301 series, which is pretty much the latest driver for everyone else
except modified for 600M series.
The unified driver is pretty much a driver attempt to work with any model with a Nvidia chip regardless of OEM origins. -

Well it`s been three months since i started this thread and still no certified driver only beta`s total fail Nvidia
John. -

WHQL is a microsoft windows test... it means literally nothing. a newly released beta driver will provide just as much of an improvement as a newly released WHQL driver 9/10 times

We have had three beta`s in a row, it must mean something, obviously nvidia does not think it is ready.

Guys, I have 650M, as no certified drivers are available, can we install the Beta ones?
The latest one is 306.02, will there be any problem with Beta drivers or not?
Thanks. -
306.02 is great. Several users, including me, are running those drivers.
-
Thanks. I will go with it then.
-
-
^^Thanks for the heads up. I am not on any Beta driver currently, running 296.87 Forceware, which is the latest available certified one.

They have released certified drivers at last, link below is 64bit win7/Vista Version
NVIDIA DRIVERS 306.23WHQL
John. -
I just installed 306.23 but as usual, they needed to be modded (if you are using a P170HM with no official Bios support). Nice to finally see some official Drivers for this GPU though.
-

Since the 680M can already work with a modded inf unlike the 7970M situation, I think they may not bother.
Only if resellers or a lot of people contact them to resolve this can I see them doing anything about it. However, for the time being, modifying the inf is as simple as replacing your hardware id with another and takes about 2 minutes. You can download the latest in my sig link. -
Yeah, that makes sense. At the same time, I can't imagine it's a big change on their end either in this case. In any event, a small inconvenience for the reward.

Yes there is 600m series Win7 Drivers at Nvidia.com
