intel GMA 950. I'm purchasing this laptop due to how cheap it is. I was going to purchase a dell with a better graphics card - however their promotion offer ended today as soon as I was buying it.

    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...2686&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN

That is a link to the notebook I'm buying. 2 gigs of ram, 2 ghz. It doesn't say the graphics card is integrated. I'm not sure if it's upgradable or not - I'd like to hope so.

    Any insight?

All Intel GMA are integrated and not upgradeable in laptops.

This computer will suck at gaming. If that is important to you, cancel your order. As Taelrak said, there is no way to upgrade it and it is integrated.

if it were a dedicated card i wouldn't be trying to upgrade it ;P

no, i have not checked the outlet. the reason i chose dell in the first place was due to the computer was 899 with 12 months no interest.

when you say it's horrible for gaming, i'm assuming you're talking higher end games? i really wouldn't be playing anything too steep.

Matter of fact, http://www.gameogre.com/darkages2.gif - that's about the extent of the graphics i need it to be able to handle.

    2d, isometric view.

hm, you'd think so since the video card can be 256mb when it's shared with my system ram.

even if it weren't you'd think it be fine.

Actually the laptops today would be overkill for that game, updated client or not. It should run smooth as silk. :)

possibly with close to the ram and processor? *Shrug*

Point taken. And a little mistrust of of MS is healthy but with that said saying somthing works when it doesn't could cause MS some problems and Intel. Learn to trust a little more. :D

Yes, the GMA 950 runs aero without problems.
