I didn't realize this, but earlier this year, Steam changed it so that you can't buy a game and gift it later. You can schedule a delivery to an existing user in your friends list, but you can't save it in your inventory to give away to someone else later. This is dumb. Why does Steam do crap like this. It makes giveaways a problem for sure.
Well, PC gaming has definitely taken a turn for the worse over the years. This is just another chink in the PC gaming chain.
Steam has really started to go downhill. They don't develop games any more. And now they take away flexibility that I liked so much about Steam.

That does suck. What about keys from places like GMG or Humble?

I wonder if it has any relation to out region key purchasing.
I also used to buy games on sale to gift them to friends around the holidays and such, it was a good feature.
Mentioning that they don't make games is hardly noteworthy anymore though, the issues in gaming exist far more outside of steam than they do within but I don't say that to discount the issues with steam in the slightest. -
killkenny1 Too weird to live, too rare to die.
Probably don't want people reselling outside sales.

Steam own the games.
Your just leasing them.

I'm just bitter about the whole gaming industry in general. I'm fine with change, but seems change keeps making things worse, not better. Keeps taking things away instead of adding value.

What it comes down to is that it ultimately favours Valve, and saddens the buyer.
I am really sad to see this option go, however, I will just buy keys from GMG and Humble Bundle.
You can no longer save Steam games in you inventory to gift later
