I've read a couple of reviews for TF2 and I am considering a purchase from steam (The class based system is really intriguing to me) From what I understand TF2 is heavily based on teamwork, and well, at least from my experience in WoW, teamwork in objective based games (BGs) are hard to come by.
Can anyone shed any light on this aspect of the game? I'm very hesitant to buy a game where its enjoyment is so heavily dependent, randomly on who my teammates are.
P.S. I haven't had much experience with multilayer shooters, besides Halo 1 and Halo 2 on the Xbox.

get the orange box, better value for money.
I'm new to tf2, getting pwned on just about every server I played in.
The gameplay is alot more dynamic than say cs, different combos of classes can provide very different playing styles. my team was getting owned by a whole bunch of scouts LOL. -
If you want to win, then yes, you will have to rely on your teammates heavily in TF2. However, this depends on the game mode you play. In Payload, where you have to "push" a mine cart to the other team's territory, must be done as a team, otherwise it's impossible to win, while Capture the Flag can be won without much teamwork. Overall, it's a great game, whether you want to play with others or go solo.

be careful of "FYI I'm a Spy" spray icons....

And also, watch out for those flame + axtinguisher people........

great game, you can play solo or go team, it's really up to you.

A great game with a surprising sense of community. You won't run into bunny-hopping BOOMHEADSHOT type uberfolk on TF2 like you would on CS.
The different classes mean that there's something for every playstyle. Sneakiness, assistance, sniping, agility, brute force, or just good ol' W-key-and-Left-Mouse-button burnination. -

get it. best multiplayer experience ever. enough said.

I think it is fun, it's mostly team oriented when you find a server where people know what they are doing and choose the appropriate classes.
-
im thinking about getting it to, just wondering if it would run on a 9500m gs?
-
Runs just fine on mine, friends. 20-60 fps (depending on map) at 1366x768, all options High, no HDR/AA/AF. It'd probably be better with a faster CPU.
-
TF2 is usually bottlenecked by the CPU.
I get around 25 - 45 fps, all options high, HDR, 4xAA, 8xAF. -
I think TF2 is one of the best multiplayer games I've ever played. It accommodates all different styles of play and allows for very diverse gameplay. Success is largely determined by teamwork. I recommend buying The Orange Box because it's only a little more than buying TF2 alone and you get a handful of great games.

TF2 is the best game ever made
seriously, its all about teamwork , strategy and fun.
Buy it, i -
i dont think its as team-based as most people say it is. One great player can still tip the scales either way - no matter how bad his team is.
It is one of my all-time favorite games as of now and it's definitely worth your money. -
-
From my experiences, one good player changing teams can easily level an uneven playing field. Come play with me sometime and ill show you -
If you're in a full 12 vs 12 server, and you have a good sniper, it can for sure help when they literally spend half a second poking their heads out and sniping the enemy
jerks -
Hmm I played this on 360 and the servers were empty and the tiny games were boring, but I hear the PC version is a LOT better. So I too am tempted to get it!
I reckon I should be able to run it on mostly high, 1440 x 900 with no AA or AF (I pretty much always leave AA, AF, and Vertical Synch off with my 8600 lol) -

i was a long time CS-enthusiast til one of my buddy's sent me the TF2 pass to play for a weekend. i was pretty much hooked after the first hour or 2. it's a very nice alternative to the same old, borin FPS games. TF2 was on sale for $10 usd off of steam, about a month ago. i couldn't pass that up!
p.s. - engineers are the shEEt!!! one of my sentry guns had about 60-70 kills one time. 16 vs 16 on the turbine map. i love to keep movin my sentry guns out and place them right outside enemy doorsi challenge any other engineers to come mess with me!

ill snipe ur ***

u'd be stuck in yur base -
can someone help me with a soldier script for reloading the rocket launcher and shotgun, should it be the one that reloads after every shot or reload only when empty? also how do you make a gernade script that primes itself or there isnt? any help appreciated as ive had much trouble with this in the past.
if anyone of you players have some good scripts can you post it here -

whats the cheapest way to get this game? i hear orange box is cheap but want to know if there are any other ways. thanks
-
$31.99
But, the absolute cheapest is to buy it alone from Amazon or Steam for $19.99 -
i guess u could always wait for steam to have another sale. i bought tf2 from steam for $10 when they had some kind of sale. this was about a month ago.
