    Hello to everyone.
I want to ask someone who knows how to do this, to help me in modding GPU bios. I do not know how to do this in "Hexedit",that's why ask for help.
I have attached three files (9800M GTX, FX3700M older and FX 3700M newer bios).
Which I want to do, is to add some Voltage values that can't be set in those bioses. Have read somewhere that it can be done easely in hexview.

In 9800 bios I want to add 1.06V and 1.07V.
    In two 3700 bioses I want to add 1.05V, 1.06V and 1.07V

    View attachment 9800.zip

    View attachment 3700old.zip

    View attachment 3700new.zip

So please, who is a NiBitors "Hexview" advanced user, help.... :)

By the way, no one knows how it can be fixed or what can be done when sometimes the video card while playing downclocks from "P0" performance level to "P8" and not returns back until reboot?

Looks like it's about the driver, but have tried some older versions and the same thing.

The way people mod the bios in hex view just changes the label. So you make the label say 1.06V but you still only get 1.05V from the voltage regulator.

If you really want to increase the voltage, you need to pin mod the voltage regulator.

About your second post, could that be a result of an unstable overclock?

    maybe...
You mean that max that voltage regulator can give you modding a bios is 1.05V? If you want higher, you need pin mod? And there is no way to tell your voltage regulator to set a 1.06 voltage from bios?

I will tell a little story to clear the situation :)
Once I got my laptop with 9800m GTX GPU, I started overclocking it. Core was 600, but memory was't getting even higher than 810(system was freezing). Than I used nibitor and in "exact mode" tab have set 1.05V (standart was 1.00V). Than I was able to overclock my memory to 900Mhz.
That's why I think you can not just label, but set any voltage you want. The only thing is needed is a advanced bios editing knowledge :D

Find the voltage regulator on your GPU, google the model number and find the datasheet, then you will know what the real max supported programmable voltage is.

There was a thread on this topic last year (regarding the FX 3700M), might be worth trying to find because it has a slightly better explanation on why you can't get a higher voltage with a modded vbios.

What is written in 9800M gtx Voltage controller datasheet: A 6-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC) allows dynamic adjustment of the output voltage from 0.500V to 1.500V with 25mV step.

Thats interesting, but does your GPU have the same Voltage controller?

Today I have decided to take out card from laptop and watch, maybe thermalpads were badly placed and it's overheating and becomes unstable....but no, I found something much more interesting!
After a while of watching on FX3700M and comparing it to 9800M GTX I understood that there is one component loosing on the card (right top corner of the back side). It can be seen that it was soldered there, but now it's gone :D

The best and absolutely stable overclock with original .05 bios (without downclocks and driver crashes) I have gained is: 587/912/1520.
Later maybe will try with .10 bios and 9800M gtx bios.
