In a few days or week, I should be getting my laptop. I have a few questions. I am getting the G5 mouse but won't ti be too long for a laptop. Also, how is gaming on a laptop. I game a little on my desktop and it is cool. I will probably get wither Battlefield 2 or Battlefield 2142. Which of those two you think is better. Thank you very much. If you need to know my specs for a reason I will post them up.

    Specs would be helpful.

I also use the G5 and it's perfectly fine.

It's a bit long yes, but you can always tie it. Or leave it :p

Well, gaming on a laptop is great if you have the right hardware for it. Right now the best mobile GPU seems to be the 7950 GTX until the 8800M launches.

I am getting a 8600M GT and it seems to be pretty good for my needs and the games I need to run with it.

The 8400M GS is actually a weak card. It won't even be able to handle DX10....even though it is DX10 capable. However, you should be fine for a little while with it.

woah....what a coincidence. Do you happen to have an HP desktop?

I have a HP Pavilion 763n and it has that crappy card, too. :)

It's been a struggle to play new games and it's impossible to play them anymore.

Now, trust me, of course with that bad of an experience (I know what you went through with that 64MB card).....even if you get the 8400M GS...you will see yourself in the same predicament in not too long. You should be smart this time around and get something that will last longer.

I know I learned my lesson.

No, my desktop is a 4 year old Dell. That was the best card I could have gotten with my laptop so I got it still very good.

Well...my HP is more than 6 years old so looks like you got played by Dell. You should look into the 8510p maybe then. But w/e....if it's good enough for you then why did you ask for people's suggestions and thoughts.

I prefer BF2 over the futuristic elements of 2142, which don't seem to work imo.

yeah not sure about the games I know Battlefield 2 is great not sure about 2142. Do you have the G5 mouse with your laptop does it work fine even though the wire is long which is not what I am liking.

I just want to bump this since I am getting a mouse tomorrow most likely. I was thinking of getting the G5 mouse, but I mean I am using it for college too, does the mouse itself look kinda weird, people are going to see it.
