    hey all

i'm looking for a game that's like a swat team kinda thing. kinda like james bond, but i want cool guns etc. it can't be rated M cuz i'm 14 and my rents are strict... lol. also, how about modern war games?

remember, i want something that has cool missions. even if it's not swat, if it's a navy seal game, that would be awesome too. i just wana have something with missions and cool weapons :p

Company of Heroes. Great game a must buy, However there is a lot of profanity.

Rangers: "Gotta kill those mother Fing krauts"

Sniper: "Sniper in a bit of a shi~storm here!"

    Sherman: "Drive dammit drive!"

Quad: "What the F do you want?!" If you click the vehicle a lot.

    Just to some examples. :)

    AND

I REALLY wish that people would stop recommending CoH for every single genre. Sure, its a great game, but its hardly a tactical shooter. Whats sad, is that just about any poster who asks for game recommendations gets to hear "CoH" several times no matter what genre they want.

Want a flight simulator? No problem! Try out Company of Heroes! So, you'd like a role-playing game? Well try Company of Heroes! You'll love it! Oh, but whats this? You prefer space 4x games? Then CoH is the game for you! Ah, yes, you'd like to try out an adventure/puzzle solving game. I've got just the thing, Company of Heroes!

I'm not trying to be overly harsh on you Blink as I think you made the recommendation out of genuine ignorance of the game, which is understandable, and this post isn't even really directed at you, but its tiring to see everyone constantly recommending CoH no matter what the original poster is asking for. Its a World War II real time strategy or perhaps a real time tactical game. Nothing else. So please, for my sanity's sake, keep that in mind in the future.

Anyway, as far as the original post goes, you might like Company of He... oh, wait.

I meant Rainbow Six:Raven Shield. Its been quite a while since I played it, but as I recall it was quite realistic, its choice of weapons was unmatched (They even had the Beretta 93r), and it was reasonably fun. I suggest you avoid Rainbow Six:Vegas though. I tried it and its not nearly as good as the original Rainbow Six games. Plus Vegas is quite buggy and unoptimized.

Hostile Intent is a mod for half-life 1, its HL2 counterpart Phoenix Rising should be coming out soon, they are both great team-based swat like games, weapons are kind of generic but i really recommend if you want a good tactical shooter, unfortunately the HI community sucks now and nobody plays.

Not to go off-topic or anything but what is the nature of the computer "business" you run at 14?

thanks guys, i'll look into all of those. is there a navy seal one??? btw, i'm not gonna get anything that has too much language in it, cuz if my rents hear...... they're kinda strict when it comes to language so yeah.

haha, i know it sounds lame. but yeah, i run a computer business that does almost evertyhing. i've got a customer right now who wants to learn some software, so i'm gonna personally teach her it.

i mainly do spyware and virus removal and protection, hardware and software troubleshooting, etc. i'm gonna have a website up soon, so yall can look if u want to. but at 14, i'm pretty tech savy. not being boastful, but i can run a pretty succesful business. :D my dad was a businessman(started one of the fastest growing small companiies in the US) so he helps a lot. plus my grandfather is an entrepenuer, and very succesful.... so i've got good training etc. as u can see in my sig, i'm becoming a comptia A+ certified tech...

yoyo, may I ask why you put those things in your sig? It's kind of a way to show-off, =/. Btw, it's not hard to build a computer even if you're 14. My 7 year old nephew built his own a while ago...

Exactly, he asked for a modern tactical first person shooter game, which CoH most certainly is not. Like I said, its a World War II Real Time Strategy or Real Time Tactical game. Not a shooter.

Indeed, it does give that impression. Of course I normally avoid signatures all together because they are generally useless and take up valuable screen space, so I might not be the best person to comment on signatures. I only have my current signature because it actually does have a very specific purpose.

Ya know, i was gonna mention that, but i figure as long as hes not one of those kids who thinks he knows everything there is to know about computers it doesn't bother me. A techie who thinks he knows it all is in my Top 5 most annoying people, just behind ignorant football jocks.

I find his signature very ignorant. Anyone can say they're becoming this and that but until you actually do become one, leave it out of the sig, come on now...

For all I care, I could put I am becoming the president in my signature.

i'm not showing off, i'm just saying that i know a lil bit about pc's, and that even though i'm 14, i can provide some info to this forum. i'm still learning tho, that's why i'm here :D

btw, BUILDING a pc isn't hard, it's getting it to work that is. Did the 7 year old do it all by himself? installing windows, figuring out what was wrong, why the pc wasn't booting etc. i had a blown MOBO the first time i tried to put it together, and i figured that out myself. it's not putting the pieces together that's hard, it's getting everything to work together that can be a pain. I've never heard of someone building a computer and having NO problems what so ever.
